No school on Friday, Oct. 3

There will be no school for students Friday, Oct. 3.
This will be a professional development day for staff members. Professional development days provide time for staff to learn new skills to implement in their classrooms, collaborate with others, and further develop their expertise.
Professional development days, which have been in place for decades under a variety of names, have many long-term benefits for students.
The Upper Valley Career Center will be open Friday. All Troy High School students who attend the UVCC are expected to attend classes at the UVCC as normal that day.
For UVCC students who take the bus to and from the UVCC: If students are normally picked up at their homes and taken to the high school in the mornings, they will need to find their own way to the high school on Oct. 3, where a bus will then take them to the UVCC. In the afternoon, if a UVCC bus typically takes them home, they will be taken from the UVCC to their home, as per usual.
The Troy Board of Education will be open Friday.
