Notice of Technology Provider Access to Student Records
In accordance with Ohio Revised Code 3319.326, Troy City Schools is committed to transparency regarding the use of student educational data. Each year by August 1st, we are required to notify parents and students about any curriculum, testing, or assessment technology provider contracts that involve access to student education records.
What You Need to Know
Each school year, we provide:

A list of all third-party curriculum, testing, or assessment technology providers who have access to student education records.

A description of the types of records these providers can access.

Information on how to inspect provider contracts and who to contact with questions or concerns.

Categories of Student Records That May Be Accessed
Our providers may have access to the following types of educational records, as applicable to the services they support:

Academic: Grades, report cards, transcripts, course schedules

Assessment: Standardized test scores, individual item responses

Attendance: Daily attendance and absence logs

Behavior: Counselor notes, behavior intervention plans

Demographic: Student name, ID, date of birth, and other basic information

Discipline: Incident reports, suspension/expulsion records

Health: School nurse logs, immunization records

Special Education: IEPs, service logs, eligibility evaluations
Transparency and Access
We believe families deserve to know how student information is managed. Therefore, we offer the opportunity for any parent or student to inspect a full copy of any active contract with a technology provider that has access to student records.
