Troy City Schools to dismiss 2 hours early Thursday (Sept. 3)

** UPDATE FOR THURSDAY, SEPT. 3 **
The Troy City Schools will be dismissing 2 hours early on Thursday (Sept. 3) due to the expected high temperatures.
For transportation purposes, this early dismissal will also apply to Upper Valley Career Center students who attend Troy High School. Also, the Troy City Schools will not be transporting students to the Miami County ESC's preschool during the afternoon sessions.
The National Weather Service in Wilmington, Ohio has extended the heat advisory already in place through to 8 p.m. Thursday.
We make this decision first and foremost with the health and well-being of our students and staff in mind.
We apologize for the inconvenience this causes our families. We look forward to the long-term solution: new school buildings with air conditioning, as well as a new air conditioning system at Troy High School, in 2027.
